1 Mayıs 2026 tarihli Resmi Gazete’de yayımlanan yeni düzenlemeyle, çalışan annelerin doğum sonrası izni 16 haftadan 24 haftaya çıkarılarak toplam doğum izni süresi (8+16) 24 hafta olmuştur. Sağlık durumu uygun olanlar doktor onayıyla doğumdan önceki 2 haftaya kadar çalışabilir ve kalan süreleri doğum sonrasına ekleyebilirler.
Doğum İzni Düzenlemesi Detayları (01.05.2026 tarihi itibarıyla):
Toplam Süre: Doğum öncesi 8 hafta, doğum sonrası 16 hafta olmak üzere toplam 24 haftadır.
Çoğul Gebelik: Çoğul gebeliklerde doğum öncesi 8 haftalık süreye 2 hafta eklenir.
İznin Aktarılması: Sağlık durumu uygun olan çalışanlar, doktor raporuyla doğumdan önceki 2 haftaya kadar çalışabilirler. Çalışılan süreler doğum sonrasına eklenir.
Babalık İzni: İşçiler için babalık izni 10 güne çıkarılmıştır.
Maaş: İzin süresince maaş ödemesi işveren yerine Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu (SGK) tarafından yapılır.
Maternity Leave Regulation
With the new regulation published in the Official Gazette dated May 1, 2026, postnatal leave for working mothers has been increased from 16 weeks to 24 weeks, and the total maternity leave duration (8+16) has become 24 weeks. Employees whose health condition is suitable may continue working until up to 2 weeks before birth with a doctor’s approval, and the remaining leave period may be added to the postnatal leave.
Details of the Maternity Leave Regulation (as of 01.05.2026):
Total Duration: 8 weeks before birth and 16 weeks after birth, totaling 24 weeks.
Multiple Pregnancy: In multiple pregnancies, an additional 2 weeks are added to the 8-week prenatal period.
Transfer of Leave: Employees whose health condition is suitable may continue working until up to 2 weeks before birth with a doctor’s report. The period worked is added to the postnatal leave.
Paternity Leave: Paternity leave for workers has been increased to 10 days.
Salary: During the leave period, payments are made by the Social Security Institution (SGK) instead of the employer.
